To reset the theft alarm on a 1989 Chrysler New Yorker Landau, you typically need to turn the ignition key to the "On" position without starting the engine, then press the alarm reset button, usually located near the fuse box. If the alarm is triggered, it can prevent the car from starting, as the system is designed to immobilize the vehicle to deter theft. If you continue to experience issues, consult the owner's manual or a professional mechanic for assistance.
Could be a faulty relay!
On a Chrysler there is a malfunction with the Sentry Key system ( chip key theft deterrent )
