As you are looking at the engine the bolt is on the left back side towards the fire wall, it might be covered by dirt/oil. It is about 2 inches down from the bottom of the distributer cap. Try using some air to clean it off a littlehope this helps. 10mm wrench I think. Hope this helps
how do you adjust the timing on a 1977 350 Chevy engine k-10
These has 4 different marks
The 1977 Dodge 360 engine typically has a timing specification of around 5 degrees BTDC (Before Top Dead Center) for initial ignition timing. The timing can vary slightly based on the specific application and whether the engine is equipped with a vacuum advance distributor. It's important to consult the vehicle's service manual for the exact specifications and any adjustments based on the specific setup or modifications. Always ensure the engine is at operating temperature and the timing is checked with the proper tools for accuracy.
cam timing will not change ignition timing i would try 8 or 10 degees advance at idle with the vacuum advance disconnected.
The timing for the 1977 225 slant 6 cylinder should be set at 2 degrees before top dead center. This applies to both the manual and automatic transmissions.
Use a timing light. Attach to batt & number 1 wire, Loosen distributor clamp & turn while simultaneously shooting the balancer. Set to specs for engine (usually a few degrees advanced) Tighten distributor clamp. Set at idle speed.
What is the CID of the engine? Depending on if it is an inline six cylinder or V-8 to know how to answer this question correctly
ALL Mopar V8s are ordered 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.
yes it should work as long as they are both 225 slant 6's.
Dodge Diplomat was created in 1977.
Timing on this truck is at top dead center for both manual and automatic transmissions. If it is an original California truck with all the smog devises time it at 4 degrees before top dead center.
The 1977 Corvette 350 LS has ignition timing standard in this model. The purpose of the ignition timing is to help start the car in synchrony.
