My Camaro RS 91 V8 305 TBI 5.0 does not have any cable. All is done electronicly.
If it is the gauge you have to pull the gauge cluster. If it is the cable you have to get under the car and replace it. It will be the only cable on the tranny. Good luck
whats wrong with it?
Yes
Yes, infact I own a 1991 Camaro RS V8 5.0. I purchased it in 2007.
On a 1991 Camaro RS, the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) buffer is typically located on the transmission. Specifically, it can be found on the tailshaft of the transmission, where it connects to the speedometer cable. To access it, you may need to lift the vehicle and inspect the rear section of the transmission. Be sure to check the vehicle's service manual for specific details and diagrams related to your model.
I have a 1991 camara rs. The speedo stopped working. All other guages still work. The transmission has a gear operated sending unit that cost about $100.00. If that is good and your speedometer and odometer does not work your guage at the cluster is bad as is mine. One last check is does your cruise still work, mine does. Hope this helps, Big C
The letters rs represent the car as the "Rally Sport" model.
The speedometer gear seal on a Chevy Camaro RS V8 is typically located on the transmission, specifically where the speedometer cable or electronic sensor connects. To access it, you may need to lift the vehicle and remove the transmission access cover or the speedometer gear itself. It's advisable to consult your vehicle's service manual for precise instructions and to ensure proper replacement. If you're uncertain, consider seeking assistance from a professional mechanic.
