I've got a gas, but pretty sure they're in the same spot. Follow the lower radiator hose away from the radiator, it's clamped to the thermostat housing, which is bolted to the front of the water pump. If you're replacing it, I think the best place to drain the system is at the lower hose to thermostat housing connection, not much below there for it to splash on. Just remember it will fly out of the hose and out of the thermostat housing, two buckets and quick hands are a good idea.
The thermostat is located in the top hose inlet on the engine. The inlet is on the rear of the engine at the firewall.
not quite sure
Thermostat stuck open or a clogged heater core. Service and flush the cooling system and replace the thermostat.
Drain the radiator. Disconnect the top radiator hose at the engine. Remove the hose inlet, which hoses the thermostat. Remove the thermostat, replace it then reverse the process to finish the job.
I am after the same info my self for a 2004 vw caddy van. Someone must know.
A VW Caddy MK1, also known as a Rabbit, Caribe, CitiGolf, or Cabriolet, can be purchased second-hand on eBay or Craigslist. Be sure to inspect this item in person before purchasing.
Yes, the transmission oils just fine. No speed or distance limits.
It is called a Caddy. A Malaysian word
The Rabbit was actually only called a Rabbit in North America. Elsewhere it was called the "Golf". The reason for the name change is because VW feared that people would associate the name "Golf" with the sport, as opposed to the wind, which all Volkswagens were named after at the time. VW fans later teased the idea of the Golf being associated with the sport by implying the pickup truck must be the vehicle that carries the clubs; the "Caddy".
The VW diesel 1.9 liter engine wiring diagram can be obtained from most VW dealerships. The wiring diagram can also be found at many auto-parts stores.
It is located on the drivers side, under the plastic cover for the wipers.
Peter Caddy was born in 1917.
