Sounds like the repair shop damaged the "axle seal" that the drive or half shaft seals to the transmission case.
By the way this kind of damage is a risk in this type of repair and don't expect them to pay for it.
To allow the drive axle to transmit same power while car is steering and axle/ hub angle is changing.
