It really comes down to Americans being cheap and thinking they are getting something better for their money. While some European brands are high-end and luxurious, most Japanese vehicles are not any better than American. American vehicles get better gas mileage, have better looks, and last just as long as Japanese cars. While some people will claim that their foreign brand was made in the USA, they fail to forget that the money they have just spent has left the country to the home of the foreign manufacturer. It is very patriotic to buy an American brand name car because the money stays in our country.
Cars that are not produced in India are more expensive in India as The Government of India wants people in India to buy Indian cars which are cheaper.
