To remove wheel studs from a 2000 Honda Civic the wheel needs to be removed. Taking the wheel hub completely off the vehicle makes the process of removing the studs easier. The studs are pressed in and use of a machine press to remove them is recommended.
Once you have the brake calipers off, they should just pull off the wheel studs. The only thing that may be holding them on yet, would be the factory assembly rings, put on over the wheel studs to keep them in place until wheel is put on during assembly. These can be removed and discarded.
I belive they are the knock out type take off wheel and drum heat studs on the back hit from front. to replace put new studs in and put back on tires.
Unbolt hub and press out wheel studs, clean hub face, replace rotor and press wheel studs back through, remount hub
Just open the three studs in the center of the wheel and it should come right off.
It might cause the wheels to fall off.
No, you can remove and/or replace the front rotors on your Jeep Liberty without having to repack the wheel bearings. To remove the rotor, remove the brake caliper, and then pull the rotor straight off the wheel studs. If the rotor doesn't budge, then use an air hammer to tap the front face of the rotor adjacent to the wheel studs (the flat area of the rotor directly between the wheel studs). This will knock the rust loose and let the rotor slip off the studs. DO NOT use the air hammer on the braking [shiny] surface of the rotor!
do you want to remove the actual studs or remove the lug nuts? the lug nuts may have left hand thread which means they go clockwise to loosen if you mean remove actual studs, u need to remove wheel. the studs will knock out with a hammer. you will need to replace with new ones
About $500 to replace. They keep your wheel on. If your wheel bearings break off your wheel falls off.
If you have aluminum alloy wheels a common cause for this is over torquing the lug nuts. This often happens when the shop uses an air driven wrench to put them on instead of hand tightening to save time.
Remove the wheel, remove the brake caliper and the caliper adapter bracket, pull the rotor off of the wheel studs.
First off it involves pulling off the rear wheel hub or front calliper and rotor. I have been told that the studs are removed from the back by hammering the front of them with the hub/rotor off. I am unsure if you need to remove/stop the brake line. I would leave it up to a mechanic. That's where mine is going soon.
