does the engine not heat up or does the car not blow out warm air when you turn on the heat?
If the car is not blowing out warm air when you turn the heat on then you need to check your coolant levels. the heat will turn off if there is not enough coolant in the car.
If the temperature gauge shows that your engine is not warming up you may need a new temperature gauge (thermometer)
A2. Another source could be that the radiator thermostat is open all the time. This you may easily check by removing the thermostat from the radiator, and checking that it operates by putting it in some water which you bring to the boil.
it can cause to fire and
an engine if running usually heats up, are you talking heat in car? need new thermostat
The combustion process cause the engine to heat up.
difference schematic diagram between carnot heat engine and heat engine
There still a lot of heat in the components of the engine, but the cooling system is not circulating coolant and no air is blowing past the engine. So just like the temperature of the turkey you take out of the oven keeps rising because of residual heat the temperature of the engine goes up for a little while after you turn it off.
The heater isn't an extra unit, it is simply pulling heat from the engine and blowing it into the cab. If the engine is not hot the heat will seem like it is not working. If the heat is not working after the engine has warmed up, you may have a fan that doesn't work, or a clogged vent.
The engine would heat up quicker without the heater on but ever so slightly, so it probably doesn't matter.
Does the engine heat up fully?
Most likely a defective thermostat. However, remember that there is a lot of metal in the engine block that has to heat up too.
your heater will be cold, or your engine can over heat. your car can take a long time to heat up. Your inside heater will be cool, or your engine temp. will over heat.
heat engines are classified on the location of the combustion chamber , if it is outside the whole set up then it is external heat engine and vice versa.
the heater will not heat up until the coolant in the engine has heated up.so 20-30 minutes is about right amount of time
