to much fuel left in a cylinder. usually from a bad cam lobe or a misfiring sparkplug.
When you place a lighted splint into, say, a test tube, where you suspect hydrogen gas is being given off, a 'pop' sound indicates the presence of the gas.
Gas caused by fermentation.
This can be because it may be out of time. Have the vehicle timed.
the gas inside it
The gas given off is hydrogen gas. When potassium reacts with water, it forms potassium hydroxide and hydrogen gas. The pop sound is due to the ignition of the hydrogen gas.
I'm not sure why it does that. I have an '84 Fiero and when I got on the highway and hit over 55 it made a loud pop and then the engine shuts off. After that day I realized I blew the muffler. So try checking that. But after I replaced the muffler its still giving me problems. :( I love the car though. I'm not sure why it does that. Zinc metal gives off a colorless gas (hydrogen gas) that burns with a pop sound when reacted with dilute hydrochloric acid.
Pop - Gas album - was created in 2000.
The cap on a bottle of orange juice can pop off due to an increase in pressure inside the bottle, often caused by fermentation of sugars in the juice, temperature changes, or exposure to sunlight. This can result in gas buildup, leading to a release of pressure that causes the cap to pop off.
hydrogen gas, collect in a test tube and light with a naked flame, it should go "pop"
You can use a lit splint and hold it over where you think the hydrogen is, and if you hear a loud squeaky pop sound it will prove the existence of hydrogen there. You can also test of hydrogen using a Hydrogen Leak Detector.
reacts with hydrogen gas given off.
