A catalytic converter is hot on one side due to the exothermic reactions occurring within it. As exhaust gases pass through the converter, the catalytic materials (usually platinum, palladium, and rhodium) facilitate chemical reactions that convert harmful pollutants like carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides into less harmful substances. This process generates heat, causing one side of the converter, typically the inlet side where the exhaust enters, to become significantly hotter than the other. Proper functioning and heat management are essential for the catalytic converter's efficiency in reducing emissions.

Each side of a hot dog contains the same amount of sodium. One side is not saltier than the other.
Why does my Lincoln LS V8 Blow cold air on one side and hot air on the other side

A clogged pipe can cause the water to flutter out of one faucet in the house only on the hot side. A broken valve can also cause this.

it is very cold there just to let you know ;)
yes
As long as the engine is not overheating, this is normal for a radiator to do. The heat comes from the engine on the driver's side, and exits to the engine on the lower passenger side.
The check engine light will come on. If you're in a state which requires a vehicle inspection, this will cause it to fail.
