The clock in a 1999 Chevy Cavalier may stay illuminated due to a faulty ignition switch or a malfunctioning body control module (BCM). A stuck relay or a short circuit in the wiring can also cause the clock to remain on. Additionally, if the vehicle's battery has been replaced or disconnected, it may lead to the clock not resetting properly. Checking these components can help diagnose the issue.
