It doesn't. The alternator is driven by a belt that goes around a pulley on the engine. The alternator makes electric by using the engines power.
Maybe what you notice is fuel pump or blower fan.
Yes, since it would not return power to the battery.
a motor is a generator and a generator is a motor, if you are applying a voltage to turn the rotor its a motor and if you are turning the rotor and taking the voltage off the terminals its a generator or alternator.
yea to test jump start the car and turn on all electrical stuff light's eta and if the car dies the alternator is dead if car will not start turn then key and listen for a clicking if no clicking nose the starter motor is dead
In all probability you have a bad battery or a loose connection. If the voltage drops with the motor running, you probably have a bad alternator (or generator) or regulator.
The alternator is run by a belt connected to the engine. When the engine is running the alternator is turning. The alternator is what produces the electrical current that charges the battery & powers everything electrical while the engine is running. the battery is mainly to start the engine.
ignition module
The theory to " spin" the alternator is the same as spinning an air compressor. The ac motor, whether a single plase or industrial three phase motor, to turn the belt or chain driven item, alternator or air compressor pump. the schematic for an air compressor would give you this answer for the a.c.app.
The running refrigerator motor is using electrical energy to power the motor, which in turn drives the compressor to cool the refrigerator.
No
Your belt going to the alternator is probably very loose and the motion of the turning alternator is continuing after you turn off the vehicle. Get the belt tightened right away.
If it is a gas golf cart it has an alternator and if it is electric you have no need for an alternator. An alternator would require more power to turn that it would return to the batteries. So, you would get less distance out of the cart with an alternator installed. That is why electric carts do not come equipped with an alternator.
A small electric motor used to turn an internal combustion over to get the larger engine running.
