Not sure what you really mean but if temp of heat does not change = likely bad thermostat etc. If gauge does not work at all but heat is fine then gauge or electrical type problem to the gauge

How do you know if the thermostat went out in a Chrysler lebaron?

If the thermostat is stuck open, the engine will never warm up to proper temperature.

What does a car thermostat do?

The thermostat is a device which blocks the flow of coolant through the radiator until the coolant inside the engine reaches a certain temperature, at which point the thermostat gradually opens to allow enough coolant though to maintain the engine at its optimum operating temperature. The thermostat then controls the flow of coolant to keep the engine at that temperature irrespective of engine load and operating conditions. Without a thermostat and engine warms up more slowly and will never reach its optimum temperature. This causes increased fuel consumption and increased wear on the moving parts.

Do you need a thermostat on a 95 Honda Civic dx?

Yes, you most certainly do. If you have no thermostat installed then the engine will take a very long time to reach full operating temperature and may never get to the proper temperature. The thermostat allows the engine to warm up quickly which helps prevent engine wear, reduce engine deposits, and emissions. The thermostat keeps the engine at the proper operating temperature for the best performance and best mileage. Running a modern computer controlled engine without a thermostat is a very bad idea.

Why does your 1995 Buick Regal temperature gauge never goes above 170?

The thermostat is probably set for 190 degrees and that is the point it opens at.

What causes a 1999 Ford Expedition never to heat up?

Could be a bad thermostat - not closing allow water temperature to reach 195

Is radiant floor heating controlled with a thermostat ?

Yes, radiant floor heating is controlled by a thermostat. This is important as it makes sure the temperature never gets higher than you want it and that when it gets cold the heating goes on automatically.

What are constant variable in science?

In science constants are the things which never change. The speed of light is a constant, so is the mass of an electron. Variables are quantities which can change. The temperature of the oceans, the economy of the country for example.

Can you run a 1996 Honda accord without a thermostat?

Can? Yes, but should you? No. The thermostat is an integral part of the cooling & emissions system. The thermostat allows the engine to reach optimum operating temperature very quickly which is a good thing. Without a thermostat the engine will take much too long to reach this temperature and in fact it may never reach it's correct operating temperature. Engines run poorly when cold. Once the engine reaches its operating temperature (generally about 200 degrees F, 95 degrees C), the thermostat opens. By letting the engine warm up as quickly as possible, the thermostat reduces engine wear, deposits and emissions. The engine will get better mileage and last much longer. Install the correct thermostat and forget about leaving it out. There is no good reason to run an engine without a thermostat.

Can you drive without thermostat?

Yes but, the engine will never reach operating temperature. Many of the thermoswitches won't function until the engine reaches operating temperature and also the heater will blow only warm air.
