Yes, if a strut is bent then the alignment can certainly be off. Struts wear down much like the shock absorbers of a vehicle. On the front struts, they assist in the steering, and often times the round bearings become squared up, which can cause you to have to physically turn the steering wheel to get the wheels back to center. Also, there is a hard rubber in the middle of the strut, and bolts that hold the strut in place. These bolts can rust through, or even the center metal column of the strut can completely rust out, depending on how much salt your vehicle encounters during winters or if you live near the oceans/Gulf coast. It is important to consider replacing the struts, as they are critically to safe and proper steerage.
Out of balance tire, bad tie rod, bad shock/strut, or bad alignment are a few options
If its a strut type suspension you may have most likely bent the strut. Be sure to get the front end alignment checked. The strut is usually the weakest component. I hit a pothole and it did not affect the alignment however, the strut was making a terrible squeaking noise. My car has strut cartridges and the one that was affected caused the rubber mount to rub against the mounting fixture on the inner fender.
To adjust the strut for wheel alignment on a 2004 Chevrolet Impala, first, ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and lift it using a jack. Loosen the strut-to-knuckle bolts and the strut mount bolts, then use an alignment tool or a leveling device to adjust the strut position. After achieving the desired alignment specifications, tighten the bolts to the manufacturer's recommended torque specifications. Finally, recheck the alignment to confirm that it meets the required angles.
Probably hit a curb or something. Alignment may be off or the strut may be bent.
worn shock/strut/ spring.
Did you get your wheels aligned? I don't know if has anything to do with it, but I do know that they usually recommend wheel alignment with strut replacement.
No, you can't. If the strut is broken, the whole corner of the car will collapse going over a bump and could cause more damage.
could be struts and or strut brg plate that mounts the strut at the top
If your car's tires are out of balance it will usually cause a vibration or thumping. If your wheel alignment is out it will usually cause the car to pull to one side.
strut as in English
Yes. You may also remove strut & steering knucle from car without separating them (if necessary) so you do not have to get an alignment.
It is a good idea to get a front end alignment after replacing and part of the front suspention.
