I used it once to wax my car and it looked beautiful for ONE day. The next day the sun made it entirely clouded and it was white film that never came off. DONT USE IT FOR YOUR CAR
Mop and Glo is not a good product to use on engineered wood flooring. This because Mop and Glo contains a wax, which can ruin the finish that is already on the floors.
NO! Leaves a white dull film.
Mop & Glo originated in 1956. It was developed as a floor cleaner and shine product designed for use on various types of flooring. Its formulation aimed to provide both cleaning and a protective shine, making it popular for home use.
Use a 50%/50% mixture of white vinegar and water. This works!
Clean the dispenser after using each time.
Mop & Glo is generally not recommended for use on kitchen countertops, especially if they are made of natural stone, granite, or certain finishes, as it can leave a residue or film that may be difficult to remove. For safe cleaning, it's best to use a cleaner specifically designed for your countertop material. Always check the manufacturer's guidelines for cleaning recommendations to ensure you don’t damage the surface. If in doubt, opt for a gentle soap and water solution.
use ammonia, full strength,be sure to have proper ventilation,as ammonia can harm you if you are in an enclosed area.
According to the manufacturer's website, you should remove the "Mop and Glo" buildup regularly. Here's their recommended solution:Use a solution of 1/4 cup all purpose cleaner (such as LYSOL® All Purpose Cleaner with out Bleach) and 1 cup household ammonia in ½ gallon of warm water. Wet the area with the solution and mop.
Smart wash
After trying many things, my husband finally used amonia and water and a stiff scrub brush...then a towel to wipe is down. That did the trick after lots of elbow grease on his hands a knees! What a mess...will never use Mop n Glo again!
You can remove the film by mixing a solution of equal parts water and vinegar, mopping the floor with this solution, then rinsing with clean water. Another option is to use a commercial hardwood floor cleaner specifically designed to remove residue. Always test a small area first to ensure it doesn't damage the floor.
I recommend you use a car wash detergent made especially for car finishes, that you can buy almost anywhere. Do not use any detergent that removes grease or it will remove your wax.
