Ford has a big long list of things for a tech to accomplish this with a scan tool.
To do the same thing on your own As long as the car (Explorer in your case) works correct, otherwise you are going to need to pay Ford.
Let the car sit over night.
Key on and cold start without any delay and turn on head lights, rear window defrost, AC or Heater full blast. Allow to idle for two minutes.
Shut off all the accessories turned on and pull away at about half throttle if possible. after the first acceleration, use accessories as desired.
Go for a half hour combined drive through town and at least 15 minutes steady throttle highway speed.
Allow 2 minute idle before shut down.
This will hopefully get all the self check functions done and you will pass emissions testing.

sir please tell me the parameters of 3g drive test....and its exact values in drive parameters...
During a drive cycle, the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) monitors various sensors to ensure the vehicle's emission-related components are functioning correctly. It performs checks such as monitoring oxygen sensors, catalytic converter efficiency, EGR valve operation, and EVAP system integrity. The PCM uses this data to run tests and determine if the vehicle is meeting emission standards.
Your car has to perform a drive cycle in order for the self diagnostics to complete it's test. If your car had a dead battery recently or the battery was disconnected recently it won't pass emissions until it has performed a drive cycle.
The Explorer will need to relearn its idle etc ( drive cycle ) and the clock and radio stations will have to be reset

I found the following when I Googled "Ford Drive Cycle" I am going to try it as my engine light is on my '02 Ford Explorer and it did not pass AZ inspection: **** Everything below came from a Google Searched article ***** I wanted to post this on here because a Ford technician was nice enough to give me this information. Here is what needs to be done to load all the parameters in your computer so your vehicle will pass inspection after your check engine light problem has been fixed. This will work for all explorers 1996 and up. Here is what you do. This will save you from having to drive 3 or 4 hundred miles to load the computer..... 1. The gas has to be between 1/4 and 3/4 full. Not above or below. 2. Start the vehicle and put it in drive and hold the brake. 3. Turn on the air conditioner and the rear defroster. 4. Sit in drive for 2 minutes. 5. Turn off AC and rear defroster. 6. Drive the vehicle up to 55 mph. 7. Decellerate down to 20 MPH, do not touch the gas or the brake. 8. You must do this 3 times and let the vehicle get cold between cycles. I did this today and my vehicle passed inspection. I hope this helps others that need to get their rigs inspected and dont want to drive around for a couple hundred miles.....
I would drive 20-50 miles to reset the computer. Depends on what kind of emission test you are talking about. Do you mean the emission test for a state inspection?
i want to open drive through explorer ?
