Well an OBD II Code Reader or Scanner can Identify the problem and reset the code with out going to a dealer. Many Mechanics have this tool and can reset the codes. Also these Scanners or Readers are available to the public and are inexpensive and can also reset engine and computer codes. For instance I had a shade tree mechanic replace my leaking heater core (a real problem with the Dakota) Cost me $380 plus the $60 Heater to do and saved me about $800. But I noticed after 3/10th of a mile the abs and brake lights came on. With an OBD II Reader I can reset the codes Costs about $35.
