A DUI can be expunged after 10 years, doesn't mean that it is easy to do or commonly done. It's really up to employers and insurers as to how long they want to count it against you for employment or insuring.
3years
AnswerIt will stay on your record forever. This is coming from someone who asked a NC State Trooper. It can no longer be used against you after 7 years. It will remain on your record though.
Hi I got a DUI in NC 1979 and it is still on my record there for 25 dollars they will remove it for 30 days then it went back on my record hope this helps i do not know if it is the same for your situation
You cannot expunge from your record any conviction that was received as an adult. In NC, 16 and older is an adult. If you were convicted of anything, it cannot be expunged. Only charges that were dismissed can be expunged. Your DUI will be on your record forever. Sorry.
Mel Gibson got his DUI expunged and he resisted arrest. Why can't I just because I live in NC.

No, especially if you're on parole or probation a second DUI can be a felony or misdemeanor that results in a heavier sentence.
In North Carolina, a DUI (Driving Under the Influence) conviction generally remains on your record permanently. However, after a certain period, you may be eligible to have the charge expunged if it meets specific criteria, such as being a first offense and fulfilling other legal requirements. It's important to consult with a legal professional to understand the expungement process and whether you qualify.
Any convictions you have remain on your record for life, unless you manage to get your record expunged.
I was recently in the Ca. DMV getting my license when they informed me that NC. has placed a hold on any newly issued licenses to me because of unpaid violations. Not haveing been in NC in the last 15 years I was puzzeled with this news as well as pissed. Turns out that a simple phone call to NC. DMV in Raleigh Early in the am. produced no known record. Then a quick call to a helpful chap in Sacramento yeilded me a clean record. All toll- 20 min. Bottom line NC and all govnmts. need money and are pulling out all the stops. luck
A statute of limitations only applies before any DUI charges are brought. Once charged in North Carolina, there is no limit.
