How much does asphalt paving cost?

About $ 4.50 per sq ft of gravel and 3 inches of hot mix.

On average it cost $1 per sq.ft per inch of asphalt, just to lay it. If you are laying 3 inches of asphalt then expect it to cost around $3 per sq ft. If you lay 4 inches expect to pay 4 $ per sq.ft.. You only pay more when you have Base work to be done such as digging down 12 inches and then laying 9 inches of gravel and then the asphalt. In cases were there is Base work to be done expect to pay anywhere from 1.50 to 2 dollars a sq ft.

In order to work out how much getting asphalt paving will cost you, you firstly need to calculate the size of the area that it is going to cover (including the depth). It will cost an average of $140 per ton, so you can then use that to work out the cost.
