To replace the rearview mirror with a compass on a 2003 Toyota Highlander, first, carefully detach the existing mirror by locating and loosening the mounting set screw, usually found at the base. Disconnect any electrical connectors if the mirror has features like auto-dimming. Align the new compass mirror with the mounting bracket, secure it in place with the set screw, and reconnect any necessary wiring. Finally, ensure the compass is calibrated according to the manufacturer's instructions.
