High temperature automotive paint might last. There is powder coating that is baked on in an oven, but it would probably ruin the oven for regular baking due to the fumes given off in the process, Blacking for cast iron wood stoves would probably be the least offensive option. Clean the rust, wipe the Blacking on and heat the stove empty to set the finish.

If your talking about the bottom, the only way to get it fixed is to go to a game store and see if they can fix it otherwise, my advice is to go get a new one.....
