belt
The Vauxhall Vectra 1.8 LS is equipped with a timing belt, not a timing chain. It's important to replace the timing belt at the manufacturer-recommended intervals to prevent engine damage. Always check the specific model year for any variations, as specifications can change.
Its a belt but its the rollers that fail check out www.v6technicians.co.uk they know all bout this engine It has a timing belt. Only some diesels or the 2.2 petrol Vectra's have timing chains.
vectra b 2.0 dtl / dth, and the same for 2.2 do not require a timing belt change as they are chain driven , however the tensioner requires checking after 150,000
i would recomend that you have the timing belt changed every 55k but they will last up till 70k , 60k seems to be the mileage that most have it done , but not all vectras have a timing belt !!! some such as the 2.2sri150 have a timing chain !!! hope this helps
