my 1999 wouldn't start. i replaced the battery cable and it runs now. i hope this helps
No gas, battery bad, coil bad, points or condenser bad, timing WAY off, carb screwed up, or engine broken.
Try checking the gorund cable at the opposite end from the battery. I had one come loose on my sporty and it would not start but the lights would come on.
Just connect the battery to the motorcycle battery cables with jumper cables and then start it.
most likely the battery or battery cable where the positive and negative termials connect to the battery. cold would have no effect on the coil pack.
Seized engine? Dead battery? Loose or corroded battery cable? Bad starter? Bad starter solenoid? Bad neutral safety switch (if auto)? Bad clutch safety switch (if Std.)? if it cranks but wont start, faulty fuel pump or clogged filter or ignition coil/coil wire
To change the coil pack on a 1998 Jaguar XK8, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Then, remove the engine cover to access the coil packs. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the faulty coil pack, unbolt it from its mounting, and replace it with the new coil pack. Finally, reconnect the electrical connectors, reattach the engine cover, and reconnect the battery.
Coil
No, a bad coil will not drain the battery.
To change the coil packs on a 1998 Grand Marquis, first, ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the ignition coil cover by unscrewing it if necessary, then disconnect the electrical connectors from each coil pack. Unbolt the old coil packs from the engine, replace them with new ones, and secure them in place. Finally, reconnect the electrical connectors, reattach any covers, and reconnect the battery.
If your XF Falcon won't start and it's not the battery, but a new HT lead and coil is in place, check the fuel line. It might not be receiving enough fuel to get a spark.
Disconnect battery negative cable. Each plug has it's own coil. Remove each coil by the one screw attached, disconnect electrical plug and pull out the coil boot. There are two pieces to each coil.
The ignition coil on a car ranges between 3 and 5 amps, which it gets from a 12 volt battery. The battery produces DC current though the coil The coil can transform the low voltage of the batter to thousands of volts that are needed to start the car.
