While doing it with the engine running isn't the best way, here's how.
Do one side at a time.
1) - Crank engine and give some time for it warm.
2) - If you suspect them to be too tight, then first loosen a rocker until you hear it clatter and tighten until the noise stops. Slowly tighten another 1/4-1/2 turn. Otherwise, just tighten noisy rocker until it quietens and tighten another 1/4-1/2 turn.
3) - Repeat for each and do other cylinder head.
4) - Clean up mess, because you made one.

It's essential to check and adjust the valve lash periodically to ensure proper engine performance and longevity. Always refer to the specific engine model's manual for precise specifications.
The valve lash for the Isuzu DA220 engine, which is a diesel engine, is typically set at 0.15 mm (0.006 inches) for both intake and exhaust valves when the engine is cold. It is important to check and adjust the valve lash at regular intervals to ensure optimal engine performance and longevity. Always refer to the specific service manual for the most accurate specifications and procedures.
