The container will say "throttle body cleaner".
Butterfly in the throttle body needs cleaning.
I suppose it is possible but I suspect you have carbon build-up in the throttle body. A good cleaning with a throttle body cleaner should clear that sticky throttle up.
try cleaning the throttle body
Keeping the throttle body clean is very important for Toyota vehicles. I recommend cleaning it every 15,000 miles.
Try cleaning the throttle body with a spray can of throttle body cleaner....worked for me.
BELIEVE IT OR NOT, but you don't. the throttle body interior, and throttle plate, is coated with a material to prevent sludge build up. Cleaning it may cause engine performance to decrease.
Try cleaning the throttle body (you can get throttle body cleaner in virtually any auto parts store), looks like you have problems with idle control valve to throttle position sensor. Both of them are located at the throttle body.
The 3.8L engine found in some years and models of Buick cars uses a throttle body to regulate the amount of air flowing into the engine. This throttle body has a butterfly valve on the front which is opened and closed with the throttle cable. The throttle body needs occasional maintenance, including cleaning and lubricating the linkage. To do this, you can remove the throttle body from the engine, which should take about an hour to do.
It is possible. Try cleaning your throttle body. If this does not work, search for vacuum leaks in your intake. Then check your idle speed at operating temperatures.
The OBD code p1221 indicates a bad throttle position sensor. Sometimes cleaning the throttle body will clear this code. If that does not work the sensor will need to be replaced.
