I'm not totally sure because I have to see it and take a look but it sounds like your starter is going bad. Either that or I would say that it is the solenoid switch gone bad. If this doesn't answer your question please go into better detail because I would like to help you figure tha problem out. :-)
Timing belt
What causes 2001 to run hot while going down the road
Assuming this is a Chevrolet Tracker, probably missing fuel or spark.
When you attempt to start it it cranks and cranks but doesnt feel like its going to turn over? Get it started and tell the auto parts worker you need a pickup coil.

There are mainly two types of bike cranks: square taper and splined. Square taper cranks have a square-shaped interface where the crank arm attaches to the bottom bracket spindle, while splined cranks have a splined interface for a more secure connection. Splined cranks are generally considered to be more durable and provide better power transfer compared to square taper cranks.
There are mainly two types of bicycle cranks: traditional cranks and compact cranks. Traditional cranks have larger chainrings and are better for flat terrain and high speeds, while compact cranks have smaller chainrings and are more suitable for hilly terrain and climbing. The choice of crank type can affect the bike's gearing range, efficiency, and overall performance based on the rider's riding style and terrain preferences.

I would add fuel to the tank, and then use the fuel pump relay to prime the system. Good luck. add fuel to your fuel filter and put it back on and should start. On older diesel engines dont worry about the fuel pump relay. Add clean fresh fuel to the filter and hold the pedal to the floor while cranking and it should start.(release pedal when it starts)
