If you touch the sparky thingy that could cause a spark through your body which would be a bad spark. Am I close?
Your distributor is probably bad.
No spark from coil, bad plug wires, or bad plugs.
A cylinder misfire can be cause by a bad spark plug or a bad fuel injector. Replace the spark plug to see if the problem is corrected.
It is either valve seals or piston rings that have gone bad
symptoms are: you can hear the engine missing, spitting and sputtering, loss of power...you can tell if it is a coil pack by unscrewing the spark plug that it connects to coil pack. when you look at your spark plug it should be a light grayish, white..this means the coil pack is working....it is best if you do this with new spark plugs, because your spark plugs could be bad. but you do this process until you find a bad plug then, that coil pack probably is the bad coil pack.
Bad coil?
1997 DODGE STRATUS HAS A BAD ENGINE BLOCK. 85 % OF THE 1995-1998 STRATUS' HAVE BAD ENGINES. AS A RESULT, THE OTHER PROBLEMS SURFACE.
Bad spark plug Bad spark plug wire Do compresssion test Bad valve Bad piston
Most likely a bad fuel pump. It will starve the engine for fuel and cause the car to feel like it is "missing." Also, I'd check the spark plugs and other related pieces, as it just as easily may be spark.
Possible bad coil.Possible bad coil.
Yes. If the ignition is malfunctioning, the spark plug will not ignite. A bad ignition module, a bad spark plug or a bad plug wire are the most common causes of that (besides a bad battery, of course).
Misfire, bad spark timing, bad engine mountings.
