Carpet grass is invasive and most people don't like the look of carpet grass. It takes a long time to grow carpet grass in the spring and carpet grass turns brown quickly when the weather gets cold.
Doing your own carpet cleaning can be very distracting to everyone in the household. Carpet cleaning machines are noisy and can make it impossible for anyone to do anything in the room that is being cleaned. They also require that the furniture be removed from the room, further disrupting the household. Do One Room a Day One way to make carpet cleaning less intrusive to the life of the house is to clean one room per day. If you plan to only clean the carpeting in one room, everyone else in the house can plan to find things to do in the other end of the house. You can limit the furniture moving to one set of furniture, as well. Cleaning your carpet one room at a time leaves traffic aisles available through the rest of the house while your carpet dries. Get the Carpet as Dry as Possible Most carpet cleaners are designed to suck up as much water as they can when you pass them over an area that has been cleaned. The more slowly you pass the cleaner over a wet area, the more moisture it can collect from the carpet. Passing the cleaner over an area of the carpet multiple times will also make the carpet dry faster. When the carpet dries faster, you can move the furniture back into the room faster. People can also walk through the room faster when the carpet gets dry in less time. The disruption to the household will be minimized on several different levels. Treat Stains Before you Begin Before you even get the carpet cleaner out of the closet, take the time to use a stain treating cleaner on any stains that you can see. The stain treatment will need time to soak into the carpet so that it will work more effectively. You may even need to scrub some of the stains by hand. If you allow the stain treatment to do its work before you begin your carpet cleaning, you will spend less time going over stained carpeting once you have the cleaner running. Most stain treatments make it easy to pick up the stain once they have done their work.
It gets cleaner because of the weak acid that is in the soda we drink.
That's funny. It sounds like the carpet didn't get cleaned. Did you pay someone to do it or did you do it yourself? If you paid someone, call them back and make them do it again. If you did it yourself, you're gonna have to redo it and make sure you go s-l-o-o-o-w (slow). Even overlap everything. Make sure you use a good cleaning product, even Oxy-Clean does a decent job. If you are attempting this yourself, it sounds like the cleaner you used is not working properly, whether it's the chemicals or machine or both. I don't like the wet cleaning methods, it just gets the carpet too wet. If you don't like any of my suggestions, consider a carpet dry cleaner. My web site talks about which ones work best. Good luck!
Try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, those supposedly can get and smudges or stains of of anything. If that doesn't work, try sandpaper. It almost always gets things off, you just might have to deal with scuffed shoes though. Oh and you can try gently rubbing nail polish remover on converse to get the sharpie off of it (if you need to get sharpie off of converse!!!)... it worked for me!!!!!
It should if you rub really hard, but nail polish remover gets it off really well too though. :)
If you have carpeting in your home then using the vacuum cleaner is much easier than using a broom to clean the surface. I have hardwood floors and it is amazing the dust and dirt that gets brought in on shoes, dogs and shed from our bodies. Just imagine that in an un-vacuumed carpet.... YUCK
Rolls are generally worse when it is humid. Regardless, rolls in the carpet mean it needs to be stretched. You can rent a carpet kicker, but a pro would be best. They should be using a power stretcher. More often then not when a carpet gets wrinkles or rolls it was because it was not power stretched when installed. Another possibility is heavy furniture was dragged across. Make sure when the carpet is stretched it is first pulled back to make sure the pad is not bunched up as well.
