The sensor reads if the engine is burning too rich or too lean by reading the ratio of oxygen and nitrogen oxide. It then tells the computer to adjust the air/fuel mixture for better performance and less pollution.
There are two o2 sensors on this car.
any car after 1995 has two, or four oxygen sensors,as they use OBDII system
no it can't. usually when the oxygen sensors are failing, u get your check engine light on.
The air pump is activated by the car computer on a cold start, to heat up the oxygen sensors, so it will function faster, and prevent emissions
Where and how many oxygen sensors are there on a 2010 fusion with a 3.0 v6 engine. Also when facing the front of the car which side of the engine is left and which is right
There are two oxygen sensors on a Nissan Sentra. This vehicle is an ultra-low emission car, thus needing only two oxygen sensors.
o2 sensors are on the exhaust pipe one you can see from engine compartment and the other should be behind catalytic converter on same pipe.see it from underneath car .
There are 2 o2 sensors. One directly in front of the engine on the exhaust manifold (upstream), and another underneath the car, after the catalytic converter (downstream).
Your gas mileage will be greatly effected. You could damage the oxygen sensors as well as other sensors. edit: I don't know about damaging the oxygen sensors necessarily but the oxygen sensors do return information to the engine to change the fuel mixture of your car, resulting in poor fuel mileage. Also your car will create more toxic pollution. In an older car without an oxygen sensor this is not a problem. In fact, it makes them open up and breathe better and even roar a little bit (heh). But it is illegal and it does pollute the air.
Yes easily
Oxygen sensors require a special socket, unless it is easily accessible to get a 7/8 open end wrench on the sensor. This depends on which engine is in your car. There are several sensors depending on engine size in the exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe before and after the catalytic converter.
Oxygen and petrol or diesel is burned in a car engine, it is not formed
