Second creative, needs to be able to do the job even when a tool needs made.
Third patience, the work is horribly difficult at times and must not loose temper, even more horrible then the work, is the customers who have little respect for the skills and investments made in tools and the library.
Last and most important humility, they will never get paid fairly and what compensation is received, is always offered grudgingly, so they need to learn how to live with little in life.
If you don't find these traits in who is working on your machine, find a new one.
