The problem is either worn suspension parts (e.g., tie rods, idler arm, ball joints) or worn shocks/struts.
Have the tie rods, and trac bar checked for play.
Upper ball joints need replaced
There are a few different things which could cause wheel shaking and thumps when hitting a big bump. The most likely cause however, is that the struts need to be replaced.
You probably bent the wheel. Have the wheel inspected and replace it if it is bent. Make sure they inspect the tire for damage. I would also have the front end realigned.
Well for one, a bolt might have come loose or you are imagining things
Probably worn steering and/or suspension parts. Have the front end safety inspected.
Your rotors are warped. You need new brake pads and the rotors turned at a machine shop or replaced.
A rubbing sound in the front end when hitting a bump could be caused by worn-out suspension components, loose parts, or inadequate clearance between parts. It's best to have a mechanic inspect the front end to identify the exact cause and address any necessary repairs to ensure safe driving.
From your description it sounds as if your front struts (shock absorbers) are worn out and in need of replacement.
When you hit the bump and you have the brakes applied, the tire will lock up when the tire is air-born for a moment.
Check front end components i.e tie rod ends ball joints, struts and strut mounts for wear and looseness
