You will know for sure because the charging hose will only fit on the low side port. You can also see a diagram of this on the link below. Just follow the icon "Find your cars low side port."
Connect a freon gauge and tank to the low side ac port on the 97 Park Ave. with the ac on high and engine running, open the freon valve. Fill the system till the gauge reads full.
