The oil pressure bypass valve is part of the oil pump itself. The oil pump is mounted on the underside of the engine inside of the oil pan. The oil pan can sometimes be difficult to remove with the engine still in the car but it can be done. You may have to raise the front of the engine (use a hoist or crane), after removing the front motor mounts bolts, to get clearance for the pan and suspension cross members.
