It is very easy to clean. extremely durable and will survive a flood. It is laid in pieces (either planks or tile depending which design you choose) and glued down. Other choices that come into play if you are not concerned about flooding are: engineered flooring, carpet, porcelain tile and cork. I would stay away from the cork if you have young children.
