Most major car rental companies require renters to be at least 25 years of age. Try looking for non-major rental companies (smaller independent rental companies).

Some of the major car rental companies will allow under 25 driving for military traveling under official government orders. A copy of those orders should be presented at the time of rental.

Are there any car rental companies that don't require a credit card?

None that I know of.

How can one rent a car with no credit card?

If you would like to rent a car but do not own a credit card you may be able to pay on a debit card instead. Rental companies understand that not everyone has a credit card and that this does not mean they have bad credit. All companies are different so it is best to check with them if they take payment via a debit card.

Do car rental agencies accept secured credit cards?

Yes, Car Rental Companies accept Secured Credit Cards. There are two types of cards. "Secured" and "Prepaid". Prepaid cards will be accepted at rental companies (or will be treated like a debit card). SECURE cards on the other hand are not like a credit card. The rental company has no way of knowing rather the card is secured or not.All secured cards say "debit", and have a Visa, Mastercard logo, etc. However, as with any credit card (secured or su-secured), they will take a deposit out on the card that covers the rental fee for your expected term. This will not be "charged", but "held" to your card until you return it, at such a time you can choose to authorize the payment to go through or pay the balance with a debit card, allowing the hold on the credit card to release.

Is a Visa card a good card to have?

A good thing is to have one credit card, whether it be a Visa or a Mastercard. I say this because if you ever get into a jam most rental car companies will not take a debit card, it must be an actual credit card.

Do car rental accept first premier credit card?

Acceptance of the First Premier credit card at car rental companies can vary by location and rental agency. While many major car rental companies accept a wide range of credit cards, it's best to check directly with the specific rental company for their payment policies. Additionally, some locations may require a deposit or have restrictions on using certain types of cards. Always confirm with the rental agency to avoid any issues at the time of pickup.

Can a car rental company legally check your credit?

No, car rental companies do not have the legal right to check your credit without your explicit "written" consent. They can only charge to your credit card. They also have no right to do a background check. That said, many car rental companies will provide you with a form for you to sign, giving them written consent to check your credit history, especially if you are not from the agency's local area.

Can a company not report good credit but will report bad credit?

Technically, yes, but usually this is not the case. Most major companies will post the good and the bad, particularly credit card companies and banks. Other companies will only report the negative, such as utility companies, apartment rental companies, etc.

What do companies check up on to allow you a rental cell phone?

When you rent a cell phone you have to have a credit card. There is an authorization fee which is billed immediately to your credit card and the fee is substantial. There does not seem to be any kind of checks that they do.

Can you rent a car with a secured credit card?

Yes, you can typically rent a car with a secured credit card, as long as the card is accepted by the rental car company and has enough available credit to cover the rental costs.

Where can you rent a car using a credit card and no cash deposit?

In the United States, most rental car places do not require a cash deposit - unless your history with them is dismal. Rental car companies prefer having a credit card number on file - this allows them to add additional charges to your bill if you don't adhere to the contract you signed. For instance, if the car comes back dinged or dented, the rental car company can charge the repair cost to your credit card number. If you refuse to pay, that's between you and the credit card company - the rental car company will be paid by the credit card company unless you protest the charge as fradulent.

Where to get a credit card?

Can a doctor's office keep credit card information on file to pay co-pays?

I am a doctor- but also go to doctors and take my kids to doctors (very often!). Blockbuster has had my credit card (for more than 10 years), hotels take my credit card, car rental companies take my credit card. ?Do I trust the doctor less than those companies? If I owe money, then they will charge my credit card- Does ANYONE have a (legitimate) problem with that?
