The coefficient of friction between a tire and a wet road is LOWER than the coefficient of friction between a tire and a dry road.

It should also be noted that during a dry period, roads are covered by a thin film of dust as well as oil that has leaked from vehicles. At first the rain mixes with these and creates a very slick surface, even further reducing the coefficient of friction. After the rain has washed away some of the dust and oil the roads are slightly less slippery, but still much more so than on a dry road.

Note too that standing water can cause a tire to "Hydroplane" at high speed, with "high speed" being a variable that depends on the condition of your tires and the amount of standing water. Hydroplaning is a condition in which the tire is literally lifted off the surface of the road and rides entirely on a film of water.

Why cars skid more easily on rainy days?

because the rain makes the roads wet and slippery which then the tires cant grip the the road properly

Why can cars skid more easily on rainy days?

Because on a rainy day, the water acts as a lubricant to the road. Therefore your tires; being made of rubber; cannot maintain the same traction as they do on a dry road.

Cars skid more easily on rainy days?

There is less contact between the tyres of the cars and the road surface on rainy days. The rainwater filling up the grooves of the tyres and the rainwater on the surface of the road prevent the tyres from gripping more tightly to the road surface. In other words, water reduces the friction between the tyres and the road surface.(This is the exact answer! Did a lot of research to come up with this answer!)

'the day is rainy'?

Well, most days are rainy! And quite "boring" as you may think, but there are actually more things to do on a rainy day than there are on a sunny day. Here's why: On rainy days, you try to think of many things to do inside, maybe outside as well. But on sunny days, you think of something to do, and you get bored of it or play a video game. Again, on rainy days, you think of many more things to do, because there isn't much to do outside. So you just try to make a fun day inside! We hope this supported your answer! Thanks For Asking!

Would you expect a plant to produce more oxygen on a cloudy day or a rainy day explain?

A plant is likely to produce more oxygen on a cloudy day than on a rainy day. On cloudy days, photosynthesis can still occur, albeit at a reduced rate due to less sunlight, allowing for some oxygen production. In contrast, during rainy days, water saturation can limit gas exchange and potentially reduce photosynthesis, as waterlogged soil may hinder root function and oxygen availability for the plant. Thus, while both conditions can affect oxygen production, cloudy days generally provide a more favorable environment than rainy days.
