If it has fuel, compression and a good spark that's delivered at the right time the engine WILL start.
Check for fuel delivery, use a little starting fluid.
Check for spark, depending on how old the truck is you may need to replace the points, condenser, plugs, rotor and wires.
If the truck has an electronic ignition, run a diagnostic code to see if there are any problems with the electronics.
