yes but the typing is not removed, it just types over the previous letter.
A typewriter keyboard typically consists of keys for each letter of the alphabet, numbers 0-9, and various punctuation marks. It also includes function keys like the Shift key for capital letters, the Spacebar for creating spaces, and the Enter key for starting a new line. Additionally, there are keys for special characters and sometimes a Backspace key for correcting mistakes. The layout is generally similar to a QWERTY keyboard, which is the most common arrangement.
Press the button to the left of backspace. Like this: =

The backspace?
A typewriter is like a keyboard without the computer. The computer keyboard is based on the typewriter. To use it you put the paper in the top bale and rolled it so the keys could hit the paper. There was a ribbon of ink between the paper and the keys, so when you hit a key the typewriter ribbon hit the paper with the letter inked. If correction was needed the paper had to be changed.
No, because you can't backspace.
It's just for convenience. Some people will use their keyboards as much as possible and there mouses as little as possible. The backspace button helps these people.
To change text on a typewriter, you would first need to use the backspace key to erase the existing text. Once cleared, you can type the new text in its place. Ensure proper alignment before typing to avoid overlapping or misaligned text.
same here! but just the backspace only....... i think your typewriter is jammed because when you cant move one button there is something stuck inside or it may be dirty: full of dust or being lived by small roaches, p.s.(that happened to mine) so..... there =)) check your typewriter before it's too late!
backspace
NO it was not OK
Christopher Latham Sholes invented the first practicaltypewriter in 1868. But it wasn't all that practical. It had no lowercase letters, no zeroes, and no punctuation marks except the period and the comma. There was no backspace mechanism the typists could not see what they were typing. the keys were arranged alphabetically
typewritters are the first version of the word processor but on computers it doesn't waste ink. for a typeritter if u make a mist8e and press backspace it just puts a black mark on the letter that shouldn't be there.(enjoy:)
Backspace is the keyboard key that originally pushed the typewriter carriage one position backwards, and in modern computer displays moves the cursor one position backwards, deletes the preceding character, and shifts back the text after it by one position. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backspace for details.
Backspace deletes something while F5 reloads the page.
A manual typewriter is the typewriter that was used before the Electric Typewriter was invented.
There is the equivilent to a 'backspace' button. It is called the 'delete' button and has the same functions as windows backspace button. It is located in the top right hand corner of the keyboard
