A twin size bed measures 38 inches wide by 75 inches long, making it suitable for one person, while a double (or full) size bed is larger at 54 inches wide by 75 inches long, providing more space for a single sleeper or accommodating two people in a cozy arrangement. The key difference lies in the width, with the full bed offering an additional 16 inches, which can enhance comfort for couples or those who prefer more space. Both bed sizes share the same length, making them suitable for similar room dimensions.

I don't think that double bed is equal to a full-size bed because in most cases the minimum size of a double bed is 135 x 190cm and for a full-size bed, it's 150 x 200cm which is larger than the size of a double bed.
There are four types of beds. They come in twin, double or full, queen and king sizes.
