All circulating quarters dated 1965 and later, and most proof quarters, are made of copper-nickel. They don't contain any silver. If you found it in change and it has a D or P mint mark, it's only worth 25 cents.
If your coin has an S mint mark, it's a proof coin that was made for sale to collectors. If it has a copper-colored edge it's also made of copper-nickel and might sell for $2 to $10 as of 05/2010. If it's in a special holder labelled "Prestige Proof", then it IS a silver coin and is worth $8 to $17.
