In Northern California, some shops offer piercing to any age client as long as it is in the ear. For any other type of piercing, it may require parental consent. This is the way most piercing parlors are, and in fact, many do not even provide ear piercing to minors without parental consent.

The piercing age needed without parental consent in the state of California is 18. If you are not from California, going to any piercing parlor should let you know what age you need to be.

Yeah you don't want to hear this but I have to tell you. You need to be an "adult" as defined by the laws of your country. In Canada it's 19 in the US it's 21. Here's why, because of the nature of the business ( dealing with exotic piercings female and male ) you must be an adult to work in the shop. You won't find minors working in love shops or liquor stores or tobacco shops due to city licensing and health board requirements. Some places will allow work experience students but they are limited to what they can do for obvious reasons listed above.
