Open the barrels and look on the flat part of the watertable (the flat part of the frame where the barrels close up) or the bottom of the barrels for the serial number
If this is an old side by side it would be a Baker model made in 1886. Serial numbers of Ithaca shotguns for that year were 2448 - 4101.

If the shotgun is a hammerless double, it is a Baker Model produced in 1899 (per Dixie Gun Works, Ithaca Serialization Guide) That serial should be a 1926 production NID. sales@countrygunsmith.net

Jerry Baker is a kind and compassionate character in "Black Beauty." He is a skilled groom and takes good care of the horses he works with. Jerry also treats Black Beauty with respect and understands the importance of treating animals well.
Your serial number and description indicates that you have a Ithaca Baker model shotgun, which was made in either 1885,or 1886.The value cannot be determined unless you provide a more detailed description of the shotguns overall condition,to include the amount of original finish remaining on the wood and metal, the bores overall condition(any pitting,or rust) barrel length, etc.
