You sure can get highlights over highlights. The more highlights you get though, the drier and courser your hair will get. I have long brown hair I got golden highlights in June 2009 but I didn't think they were deep colored enough so I got them again in November 2009. She got them a little brighter in November which I like more but then I had gold and blonde and of course brown. Just this July 2010 I got touch up highlights and they were a mix of gold and blonde and I love them. They will keep me satisfied for a while so that way I can get my hair back to a soft silky feeling!
Yes, but believe me, it wont look too good.
as soon as you feel you need to,but definitely wait until they look as though they are faded to prevent damage to your hair and dryness - about 6 months. If you have had a full head of highlights put in, 6 months later have a half head of highlights to top up or intensify :') hope it helped.
it looks nice on a fringe, but normally just streaks all around the hair --i've found that highlights look best when they aren't applied to the very top layer of hair. when they are, they look too fake. i always clip up the top section and start putting them underneath that top layer, starting about an inch down from the roots.

Yes, you can. I did!
Go to a professional salon and they will correct this mistake! Yes putting a red based tint over the top should sort this out, but i would still get a qualified stylist to do it.
3-5 weeks
Absolutely! A good colorist will save you time and do it at the same time (put in foils for highlights and then put the color on the rest of your head :) )

Highlights are just bleached parts. So, yeah. Get ready to go bald when you're 40 though.
Yes, it is.
