Yes it is very possible to die from a oral piercing. The piercing is near blood vessels and a major nerve that is vital to eating, talking, and the ability to also taste. But the lack of proper care could lead to a brain infection. Which if gottent will not take long to kill you and once you start to notice the symptoms of a brain infection it's likely that it is too late to do anything about it. The major symptom is a constant headache from brain swelling it will at first fell like a regular headache that won't go away. im not sure, but it is possible to talk in a weird way. The death that occurred was due to a pre existing condition that was not disclosed to the piercer. This caused an infection that was not treated and thus snowballed into a serious medical condition which was not treated quickly enough, thus death was the result.

It wasn't the tongue piercing that caused the situation, it was the client's stupidity that caused her demise. Follow the aftercare instructions, get the piercing done by a professional body piercer and if you have issues contact your piercer as soon as possible, barring that go to your local clinic or hospital emergency room asap.
