In order to become a professional piercer you must first obtain an apprenticeship with someone who has the skills you are looking to learn. They will teach you different techniques and styles in which to perform the piercing, they will teach you basic anatomy so as to avoid large nerves, and they will also teach you how to deal with people. You need to be an apprentice for at least one year or at the very least perform every piercing you feel comfortable doing at least 15 times. When I say that you need to find someone that will be able to teach you the skills you want to learn and also when I say piercings you are comfortable with I mean that you need to decide what your boundries are. If you are male and feel uncomfortable piercing below the neck (save for a navel) then you need to make these boundries clear, if you're a female and don't mind piercing anything then jump in and hope your mentor will perform all the piercings you want to learn. If you have qualms about piercing the genitals of the opposite or same sex then you need to make these clear as well. Also, some advanced studies and anatomy will help you along your path.
Yes! Do not go to someone to get a body piercing (or tattoo) if they are not licensed.
If they're licensed.
In a licensed and inspected body piercing facility.
Yes, a body piercing studio must be licensed and inspected and the operator must show and prove competence, knowledge and training.
By the time you finish paying what they charge you for a non-licensed, non-inspected ear piercing performed by someone who knows nothing about piercing, you could have got the piercings done with quality body jewellery in and inspected and licensed body piercing facility by and experianced and trained body piercer who cares about you and your ear piercings. Simple answer call Ardene's and ask if they are inspected and licensed by the health unit and city to provide piercing services, then ask them how much.
Check with your local health department. They have the addresses of all licensed schools.
In a licensed and inspected facility that provides professional body piercing services.
No. Definitely not. If you need to be sedated for a body piercing this is not for you. Seriously not only is that needless it's also highly dangerous. What you need to do is fine a good body piercer, check out the Wildcat Collection website they have links to good piercing studios in the UK. But being sedated for a piercing is not permitted in any country for any reputable body piercing studio.
You cant purchase body piercing needles unless you are a licensed business, so don't worry about it.
Not if it's done by and experienced professional body piercer working in a licensed and inspected facility.
Yes there are, but that is why body piercing is to be done by a professional body piercer working in a licensed and inspected facility. Professionals are trained to look, and observe anything that may cause and issue for the client and the piercing. Leave it to a professional.
Industrial piercings are done with a needle in the hands of a trained professional body piercer. Ardenes is not a body piercing facility, they are not licensed to do body piercing nor do they know how to do industrial piercings. They use piercing guns for ear lobes only. See a professional body piercer at a body piercing studio or your local professional tattoo shop.
