Depends on how often you use it, and what temperature the curling iron is. Highlighting, dyeing, blow-drying, straightening, curling, and combing hair constantly (when it is wet) all do some damage to your hair. If you FEEL breakage or that your hair is thinning out from the heat, try to get your ends trimmed, and get a good protein-filler/protein packet conditioner. These are only a few dollars at Beauty stores and are a good precautionary measure to protect the hair from your styling habits and tools.
But no, I do not think repeated use of a curling iron will "break" your hair. I've had my hair processed twice in one sitting with 40 vol bleach, and my hair is still fine, thanks to filling-in my hair with a GOOD deep conditioner every time I shampoo.
