First decide what kind of makeup you want to do - if you plan to focus on brides you need to follow a different path than if you want to create monsters for movies.

I'm going to assume you're still in high school. The very first thing I would do, before I spent thousands of dollars on classes or compiled a list of working makeup department heads in the movie business, is to go to your school's theater teacher and ask to start doing makeup for school plays.
