If you are looking to gain mass, you need to do resistance exercises.

1. Bench heavy weight low reps.

2. Dumb bell press heavy weight low reps

3. Lots of protein, you need protein for muscles

sets like 5 or 7 reps per set not only will you gain mass, but your strength will increase

dramatically

4. If you are looking to tone up you need to do many reps low weight!

I strongly urge that when you choose to gain to much mass later in life you might not be happy with the mass you gained!
