The first thing is wash with soap and water. The odor comes from bacteria lodged in your skin and this needs to be cleaned off. Soap and water is best and you need to rinse the soap off well before going further. You may find you need to do it several times per day for a couple of weeks before things start to clear up.

After washing you need to reduce the thing the bacteria tends to feed from - sweat. Deodorant or talc powder. But bear in mind this WILL be washed off as you wash yourself again and will need to be reapplied. Change your clothing if you can and always wash it before re-wearing - don't just leave it on the floor for a couple of days and then re-use it!!! Treat it as if it were a re-occurring infection and anything you have touched causes a re-infection.

The same answer is applied to smelly feet! Wash 3 or 4 times per day, and if you have enough socks and shoes change those at the same!

It is simply a matter of personal hygiene and it must be appreciated that some are starting further down the line than others and some do sweat more and they should take additional precautions.
