Just wiping it off works...if it doesn't come off just from wiping, try a hard-surface cleaner like Fantastik.

You can put lipstick on your nails but it'll come right off.
You can use general carpet removal products you buy off the shelves at the store the better question is how do you get lipstick on the carpet!? By dropping a lipstick that bounced off the dressing table and onto the carpet. Needless to say the lipstick cap was off at the time.
If it's extended-wear lipstick you'll need makeup remover, or vaseline. Regular-wear lipstick can just be wiped off.
Because its a stick for your lips Lipstick is caled Lipstick because it's a stick of stuff that you put on your lips. Nobody ever said it would stick. :)
Lipstick dries. If its a good brand- and you kiss them it wont rub off.

Lip Stain is just lipstick based on water. So if you want something that won't come off easily you would want lipstain. But If you want something that easily comes off get lipstick.
1940s During the war metal was scarce. They had lovely carved plastic tubes that had an elastic cord attached to the lid. When you took the lid off, the elastic would allow the lipstick to rise up. No metal involved.
If it is the lid then yes you should be worried if it is the lipstick part ( the part you smooth on)then no
To remove lipstick from clothes, scrape off excess lipstick with a dull knife or spoon. Blot the stain with a clean cloth soaked in rubbing alcohol. Wash the garment in cold water with a detergent that contains enzymes. Repeat the process if necessary before drying.
There is no such thing as "lipstick poisoning ".
